Out of the Box, Apple iPhone does not support deleting individual Call records or SMS messages. You can only delete them in a batch. But there are 3rd party solutions available which does this functionality, perfectly. Here is the procedure:-

1. Open the AppTapp Installer
2. Tap on the ‘Sources’
3. Then tap on ‘edit’ and then ‘add’
4. Type the new installer source for the fix http://app.weiphone.com/installer/ and then press OK.
5. Install the ‘WeTOOL’ app
6. Reboot your iPhone by pressing the Power Button for 10 seconds.

This application can even do a ‘Forward SMS’ functionality.

There is another 3rd party application which does similar functionality, but no installer source is available as yet. iPhone-SMSD is available at :-http://code.google.com/p/iphone-smsd/

The SMS from the alphanumeric or non-standard numbers appears in a scrambled fashion on the iPhone v1.1.1. But no more!. Apple already fixed this problem in the latest 1.1.2 firmware. Someone has plucked the SMS application from 1.1.2 ROM and made it available for 1.1.1. This fixes the scrambled SMS problem. After applying this fix , I never faced any adverse effects at all. This effectively buys me some more time to upgrade to 1.1.2 !

So here is the Fix:-

1. Open the AppTapp Installer
2. Tap on the ‘Sources’
3. Then tap on ‘edit’ and then ‘add’
4. Type the new installer source for the fix http://i.unlock.no/ and then press OK.
5. The ‘SMS Fix’ application should appear in the ‘Unlocking Tools’ category.
6. Install the ‘SMS Fix’ app
7. Reboot your iPhone by pressing the Power Button for 10 seconds.
