A *NIX/*BSD system running netatalk is capable of serving many macintosh clients simultaneously as an AppleTalk router, AppleShare file server (AFP), *NIX/*BSD print server, and for accessing AppleTalk printers via Printer Access Protocol (PAP). Included are a number of minor printing and debugging utilities.
Netatalk has been ported by Jay Freeman to iPhone platform. Once installed through Cydia, You can find the iPhone in the OS X Finder. You can “Connect as” - root/mobile ( default password: alpine).
Click on Connect and Viola!. You can easily transfer between your Mac and iPhone through the finder itself. Unfortunately AppleTalk protocol support has been discontinued by Microsoft on Windows Platforms.
